And? By the looks of it it was a First Class vehicle, in the middle of the set.
Maybe a last minute swop for a broken Mk1, who knows?
Still, when Crossrail means no more steam to Paddington it will be something to reminisce over!
Never known Mk 2 air cons to be that sound proofed, had plenty of trips behind noisy diesels to know that!

Is it indeed a 'Coffin' if you look at the Youtube clip, while not overly impressed by some of the 'rainbow rakes' that Riviera/DBS put out, I can live with them if they are pressure ventilated, however, any tour promoter that seated in an Air Con on a steam tour would never get my money again, if you take away the sound I might as well be sitting on a Pendolino.

Just cannot believe I did that again, exactly the same Thursday and someone pointed it out ! I'm losing it. Not even as if Henry 1 had a King named after him. Anyway, amended, thanks, and glad she's back with no signal problems this time !!!

I think I know you from another forum (& I don't mean The Works either), you always seem to slag people off & always putting them down. Were you on this then?

You should have learned by now that cutting it that fine will inevitably lead to missing the shot, I arrived at my location today some 50 minutes before Britannia was due, and the best 4 places were already taken.

Hammering over the Thames at Goring on the fast. Good sound from Twyford Pete, looks like a great day for 6024.

I was at the location with plenty of time to spare. I wasn't expecting the train for another 15 minutes so the camera was not switched on when it suddenly appeared!

I think we need a thread on clagging generator cars on the back. Here is a montage I made around the West London area on 6024's movements.

Edited to show the cropped and straightened going away shot at Southall.

There are some fabulous photographs on this thread. The engine is so photogenic especially as every photo seems to have caught her WORKING. Great stuff, and thanks to all contributors. Pete
