    You've misunderstood me. 34081's overhaul has yet to commence beyond removing the "thieveable" non-ferrous items for safe keeping and the occasional cleaning party to keep her looking reasonably smart. To all intents and purposes she's still complete and untouched since withdrawal from traffic. Our pre application "application" was approved by the HLF who gave us some pointers as to what they expect to see in the full application. We are now steadily working through the critical path analysis, flow charts, cash flow projection, education etc. A bit of a slow process but better by far to take our time to get it right than rush things and screw it up. We have a good man writing our application as he has written a successful one in the past for another Pacific.

    Im going back to the ORIGINAL question,as in the title...is 6100 Royal Scot having a test run or has it gone back into it's 'lock-up'.I presume,Southall?

    As far as I know it's still at Southall today. But it won't be for much longer, and it won't be doing any test runs from there either.

    Have a look back a few posts for a hint as to where it is going. Weather permitting I'll be surprised if it's still at Southall come early next week, or even the weekend.

    You won't get that yet, because it's supposed to be a secret. Much like the names of victims of fatal accidents are not announced until the next of kin have been informed.

    Apart from that, I'm still constantly surprised at how dense the grey matter is amongst some of the forum contributors. You lot wouldn't be much cop at the times crossword.

    Steam Railway (Issue 359) suggests it will (probably) go to the West Somerset for completion and running in, with main line testing after the Spring Steam Gala in March.

    Ah I didn't try very hard then. Interesting then. I take it the locomotive is moving to LNWR Crewe for the overhaul to be finished and then run-in?

    I wouldn't bother. It won't make any difference because they've got very short memories.
