When does Scots Guardsmans ticket run out? 2018? And presuming it doesnt take long to overhaul (2years?), that gives Tyeseley till 2023 (galatea out of ticket) to have Kolhopur ready to see all LMS 3cylinder 4-6-0 locos in steam, which also is 100yrs since the formation of the LMS!! Good target to go for!

Nice to see the progress on 6100. Let's hope she proves to be a reliable performer. Would she be Southall based? What's she like for clearances and axle weight? I'd also like to see her working from Bristol next summer. I think a Royal Scot would make a very interesting comparison with a Castle or a West Country over the Devon banks and the run to Weymouth.

As for the colour scheme - I'm no fan of BR camouflage green, but anything's better than the previous "pink"! Proper LMS crimson lake would be my preference, even though it's anachronistic for this loco in rebuilt form, or how about post-war LMS lined black, for a change?

I will second that option. Much underated and underused livery in my opinion. 6115 looked the bee's back when she wore it and 6233 looked bloody gorgeous for that year she had it

It will be good to finally see 46100 out and about, when you think how long it has taken to get it sorted from when it first steamed , has the boiler been reset back to zero because on the current ticket it must only have about 4 years left if it hasnt,

I think a lot of the problems with 70000's condition were as a result of when they tried to driver her through 78019 in Norfolk..........

Sadly she hasn't been quite right since that collision. :(

60009 and 61994 were both overhauled at Crewe and they have not exactly been plagued with problems.

IIRC she "fell over" not long having emerged from Crewe, and was sidelined for quite a few months, but we digress.

Sooooo, back to the Scot.................... lined black or Brunswick. I don't mind which - either is better than "pink".......... and even better, would be if she were to be Southall based!! :):)

No, it just makes sense for her to head for Southall, and take over where Bittern leaves off......... plus Bruanton is going to be out of action until at least spring next year, so that's two loco's down already......... and being completely selfish, I've yet to see the Scot romping along mainline metals!o_O

That aside, she'd make a refreshing change down 'ere, and any way Ooop North they've already got one so they don't need to two, do they - lets not be greedy.......... ;)

Wasn't 70000 subject (if not the first) to fall into the "incorrect grade of copper" issues?

Galatea as I'm sure you know has recently returned to service.
Leander is well on the way to joining her.
Bahamas has recently started her overhaul with assistance from the national lottery.
.......and Kolhapur is reported to be the next through the Tysley's workshops following the completion of Clun Castle.

All being well we could see all 4 in ticket in 4-5 years time!

Being selfish I'd love to see both Galatea and Leander in green with 82e shed plates with both loco's being long term residents of Barrow Road. Apologies for the paint related comment!! ;)

I think alot of us would love to see 45690 and 45699 working out of Briz heading north up the midland. Ben can VT chuck in a tour with 45699 New street to briz and back with 45690?

There is this wonderful timing that is happening with 46100, 46115, 45551, 45596, 45690, 45699, 45593 all together and we can all hope in the same livery around 2018....
Getting back on topic. The one and only time I watched 6100 working was on Berwyn bank where it sounded like a bag of cats being shook up in a random order. Now it all seems to be coming back together with what seems to be a properly commited project team managing the maintenance.
