Just over 56 years after the last B1 hauled passenger train departed Arlesey, 61306 restarts her train from the new station en route to York. She's a bit cleaner than the New England B1s we used to see on this stretch.

Off York 28L, ECS got into the platform late but not sure why it was so late leaving.

29 late now. RTT is expecting them to cut the Retford water stop from 23 to 3 minutes. They'll be lucky.

'The Cathedrals Express' on the 12th March 2015 featuring LNER B1 No.61306 'Mayflower'. Running from London Kings Cross to York, the train is seen passing Colton Junction on the return.

Made the risky trip to, Gamston Bank, where it was almost pitch black, but thankfully, modern day cameras, shoot well in very low light. Loco seemed on form again, despite the late running.

Love the reaction of the child on the platform, ending in a little double jump. A future forum member!

Used Platform 3 at Peterborough, all passengers were off and doors were shut within a minute of coming to a halt, but was held for another 2 minutes for the footplate crew to get their tea from the support coach... ;)

Would much rather have seen the second sequence without the inclusion of a shot that "crossed the line", (in filming and literal terms). All that train action and the B1 ending it was superb, spoiled for me by jumping over to the other platform for a very short sequence.

Comment intended as a very constructive comment.
