It'll be the other side of Didcot Dave, the reliefs are closed west of Reading too! All London Paddington-Oxford stoppers are calling on the fast line platforms at Didcot and are reversing at Foxhall Junction.

    RTT is not infallible.

The Norwich to Windsor trip is also timed at 60 mph max on RTT.

Indeed its not - we have all been on the end of last minute RTT changes. Interesting tho that they seem to be timing 61306 at 60 mph on its first two diagrams.

It's not uncommon for RTT to say 60mph. Most railtours featuring 60163 and 5043 are timed to 60mph, despite the fact both are permitted to do 75mph.

It's just an input figure to make the software work.

Precisely, so it is never to be taken as fact simply because it isn't, smilarly the loadings, all as Big Al says, just to make the software work.

I recall being mentioned the speed is based on acceleration / deceleration, so a 60mph is an indicator of a heavier load for the locomotive for pathing purposes, not speed limitations on the train.

given it's a class 5.. makes sense, even if it is a 75mph class 5.

Received a letter from SD a few days ago offering me a 30% discount on this tour so I booked a couple of seats this morning. Well, it would have been rude not to. :)

Please don't shoot me for asking, but -- will this have a diesel on the back? Or to put it another way, how many coaches can a Class 5 on its own pull up Sapperton?

Most Likely ! Apart from that test run it completed, a while ago, it's a untested loco. If I remember correctly, it hauled 9 coaches up, Langho on it's test run & a dead 37 on the rear. But that was back in, May 2013. I just hope all goes well, for all concerned.

73096 took at least 10 up Sapperton unassisted on 28-3-2004.

By an amazing coincidence I will be at a party and staying overnight Saturday to Sunday morning at a hotel next to the GWML at West Ealing! A 0907ish pass will be perfect for me IF it comes off - but when I type West Ealing or Ealing Broadway into RTT, I get strange results, such as only trains FROM (not to) Heathrow passing in the case of W Ealing and no trains at all passing Ealing Broadway.
