At some point some people on here might want to start to believe us!

I'm very glad everyone had a good time.

Remember - 5043 to Edinburgh next May.......

Had an absolutely brilliant weekend. By far the best trip I have ever done with VT and also with Lizzie, she is in such fine shape and looks the part too,a real credit to its carers.

Thanks to everyone at VT,6201,WCRC and NR for such a superb trip, looking forward to doing the one with 5043 in May!

The only problem with the entire weekend was the once again annoying staff at Glasgow Central trying their utmost to stop anyone getting a photo.....

Hope Vintage do more of this type of trip in future years, really seemed a success.

Some fantastic driving from Gordon and Peter and some equally great firing from Steve and Dean made the trip even better.

    Thanks again,
    Mark

It's been a real pleasure reading the feedback from passengers and linesiders alike about this tour especially after the negative line the early part of the thread took

As has been pointed out of all the operators VT runs it's tours to support the VT collection of engines . They are as enthusiastic about steam as most on here are and of all the tour operators have been light years ahead in engaging on this forum

A huge thank you needs to go out to The Princess Elizabeth Locomotive Society, Vintage Trains Steam Program, Tyseley Locomotive Works, West Coast Railway Company, Network Rails, all the people provided hospitality onboard, all of the passengers who purchaesd tickets, and with all of the linesiders who were onboard or shooting the train to document this trip. I hope I got everyone.

In terms of the impact here on the internet I have seen nothing like this since a locomotive crossed the northern part of my country in summer 2009 to Trainfestival 2009 in Owosso, Michigan. I know we had people from around the world at that event.
A huge compliment, since Southern Pacific 4449, a famous locomotive here in the states and around the world got quite a bit of media from the 2009 trip that I mentioned above.

Alan, great summary of the tour.

Sorry I got in the shot with my HV at Glasgow - I needed to find someone in a hurry!

    Regards.

Great to see all the images and videos posted from what has been one of my favorite railtours to date.

Lizzie sounded like I’ve never heard her before, which is a real credit to Steve and the team after her move to Tysely. You would never believe that her ticket is nearly up.
The loco crews and support crew really deserve a pat on the back for providing us all a weekend to remember, and for VT for organizing such a weekend to commemorate 6201’s run 75 years ago.

Cant wait for next May with 5043!!

    Cheers to all,
    Oli

Just shows with Lizzie on you don't need to be in the front coach to get brilliant sound effects...

Mark, the elbow is my mate Trev's, mine is the hand holding the cam with the furry wind gag on the top @ 9.11 when we were storming into Oxen. :)

(Love your vid mate, that's an epic!!)

    Re: Sheer nostalgia!!!

The overhead wires, colour light signals, pallisade fencing, Mark 2 coaches and overgrown lineside give a bit of a clue to the answer - but good photos all the same.

I don't think it was actually meant in that way...
