Quick story about the lizzie trip I was told tonight,......After the trip finished The blue 47 dragged the empty stock and lizzie out of Lime street headed for Crewe, only to be stopped on the Runcorn/Widnes (Rail) bridge by a Red signal.....Bill Andrews who was the driver of the 47 had to ring the Singal box to ask about the delay........Apparentley the Signalman at Ditton had reported the REAR OF THE TRAIN ON FIRE!!! When it was explained that there was a Steam Locomotive at the rear, the signalman wouldnt allow the train to proceed until it had been checked out......

Tell me about it! The wettest climb I've had up the S&C, got soaked sticking my head out to hear Lizzie. Stunning climb of shap, sat in the second coach from the front she sounded lovely all the way up.

Another fantastic trip behind Lizzie, following trips to York, the Lickey and others I've done. She is certainly in good form at the moment and there's a few of us tempted to book on another of her tours later in the year.

Have to agree with Mike, Lately the standard of the Video and Photographs is simply stunning, not just of Lizzie, but all the mainline tours......

A good day behind 6201 on Saturday, for which it was my 1st time I've done Shap & the Settle to Carlisle railway in the same day. It was also the first CME tour I've travelled on. I'll have to try and see if I can get the picture of the 4 of us with 6201 uploaded when I get a chance!
