Gents can i just point out (before this turns into a slagging match) that Crewe Heritage Centre have absolutely nothing to do with the current situation regarding Lizzy other than the fact that we currently are playing host to the locomotive and its support coach.

I am not quite sure how the museum has even become a factor in this

Any and all decisions or announcements should come from the 6201 mob as im sure they will in due course.

yes your totally correct, The HC is only stabling lizzie and is no part of this "debate", and as i said in my original post, you chaps have turned the place around literally saving its existiance, you deserve every credit.................but as you can see from polishers post he obviousley has a personal axe to grind, and has to do it thorugh a forum rather, than having any bottle to do it in person. as his post shows , he must be often around lizzie and her crew .......but unforunately isnt fully aware of ALL the facts and figures either........and as this is a very knowledgeable and respectful forum, i want no part in a slanging match and bitter exchanges of words, and will let polisher blow his own safety valve........My dad has put many years of time, effort, money and dam hard work into the engine (as have ALL the other crew including the chief engineer) and whatever polisher says....priority number one (family aside) is The Princess, and every single one of the crew that i know will continue putting every effort they can into her to keep her running......

Well thats good enough for me and anyone else, including and especially polisher. I said at the very start of this thread that I would wait for the facts and not rely on the opinion/speculation of people with an over-inflated sense of importance or standing.

Good luck to Lizzie and all those responsible in whatever form for her upkeep.

ii must reply to polisher who has his facts wrong , as asupprt crew member since 1987 and helped overhaul liz in 1994 -2002 im entitled to pour scorn on the polishers sad garbage, firstly i am not a commitee member so have no say where the engine goes secondly unlike you i am part of the engineering team and like the rest of the team helped lizzie to become the legend she is i am personally gutted at what has happened ,and will miss those guys so much .nobody was more dedicated to the cause than the engineer .operating the engine without him will be a challenge . nobody is bigger than lizzie and things will move on lizzie will steam again im sure of it, watch this space , colin worrall lizzie society fireman.

Despite Colin an his sons wailing, there is sumthing very sinister about what is happening to Lizzie.

Obviously anti ELR, wanting the engine at Crewe?, no undercover accomodation, no 24/7 engineering base, no railway to run-in after repairs, and allowing the sacrifice of their engineer to get their wishes?, very sinister!

Polisher have you been reading to many Agatha Christie novels?
All this talk of sinister goings on and people being sacrificed sounds like a B Movie plot from the 1930's. 8-[ 8-[

just to quote what my dad has posted

"firstly i am not a commitee member so have no say where the engine goes "

so perhaps it would be appropriate to aim your rants and personal name calling to the people who will make or have made the decision.......and not the hard working support crew,

Justify myself to a person who revels in creating conflict and argument by reporting half-truths and rumour to make himself look clever and 'in the know?' I dont think so ! LOL

The reason people are being scornfull Polisher is because each time you come on you seem to have a conspiracy theory going on.
I've only been here a short time but we've had the Kinlet conspiracy and now this.
Whilst on the subject of conspiracies any ideas on who shot JFK? :-$

Simple question: - When did/does 6201's boiler insurance certificate run out?

    Thanks for that info Rich.
Therefore 6201 cannot leave Crewe for anywhere, except by road. I believe that 6201 has no more booked turns this year and only 2 and a bit months on its ticket next year, so as far as I can see it has now retired from active service.

The trouble, is some of those individuals think that they own the engine.

you obviously have some sort of personal issues with the crew "polisher", so id suggest you have the guts to air them on a personal basis rather than blowing off on a respectful forum like this one, and spreading unfounded malicious gossip to the well learned people who use it for its intended purpose
