Agreed. So refreshing to see it "box free."

She's not been put inside at Ferryhill, per RTT,so will she be allowed to run on until being put Slow Line at Northallerton?

Edit - RTT now changed to only 1 min early leaving Ferryhill? What happened there?Did she stop?

And changed again - very confusing. I hear she thundered past Darlington, to the delight of some young spectators :)

A good, no-nonsense trip, with 46233 in full command of the task at hand as per ususal. There were good opportunities for some spirited running on the ECML in both directions, and in terms of the lower speed-range (ie. below 60mph), there was some excellent running between Chesterfield and Broadholme on the return; it was almost a shame to stop at the latter.

Water was brought forward to Pontefract Baghill as previously suggested- however, there was no chance for a leg-stretch on either stage of the journey. There was a bit of confusion at Durham on the outward journey, as we were mistakenly signalled to take the through line. Brakes applied and a call to NR to change the road resulted in a 7-minute delay. However it reduced the amount of standing time at Low Fell, which balanced things out nicely for an on-time arrival. Some interesting stretches of track around Rotherham/Masborough, in particular spotting the signal box in Booth's yard!

few photographs of the tour now up on my website: http://richardsteampics.weebly.com/main-line-workings.html

Manages to find a bit of sunshine in County Durham as she crossed Croxdale Viaduct:

This image is a stitch of two photographs as there was no sun in the foreground when the train came.

Quick video of 46233 departing Pontefract on saturday night, no great efforts, much more used to taking a still photo!

It was a very well controlled start after the inital slip. A heavy train on an incline and curve.

Excellent driving throughout, a superb day, well done and thanks to everyone involved.
