Not exactly subtle is it! But then again, at least it's not been bolted on at the expense of the deflectors as per 70043/44!

Fantastic to see the loco looking complete though, and rather tasty in the gloss black. Just out of interest, when 70000 ran briefly in black after construction, did it have the BR logo on the tender or was it literally plain black? Part of me thinks Crewe should do the whole shebang and add LNWR style lining and red-backed plates. That would look rather sexy I think...!

Hmm, I have two photos available in various books from January 1951 when the locomotive is clearly painted black. One shows it without crest and one shows it with crest! I can only assume it was applied during the testing process and before it was painted in BR green.

Either way the loco is looking fantastic in black and I am very happy to see my favourite engine back in working condition. Looking forward to seeing it at the WSR :)

    Regards,

    Dan

Interesting to see this loco's inaugural run listed on UkSteam for a CathEx run on 7th April starting at Oxford. If this proves to be the case, I'd be intrigued to see where the loco ends up to be positioned for this run. My first thought would be Didcot, but I guess at a push both Tyseley and Southall could be candidates?

Southall (provisionally). The times I have received show it on the back of the ECS from Southall to Oxford.

Four very recent photos of the completed loco on the front page of, I think, Keith Langston's website.

Does anyone know how far off 92134 is? No website to give us light and last i saw the boiler cladding was on (probably test fitting) and the new tender was being built. This was about 2009/2010. Is she still destined for the Churnet Valley when done?
