Cheers for the help. Was just hoping the green set would return as a Mk2 beats a Mk1 in the comfortable stakes.

Timing sheets given on Steam Dreams trips using the 'Green Train' list the stock as CS05, so whether this means that the Green Train is coming down or not I don't know. Our last trip on CS05/WCGN, the carriages feeling rather tired, with no heat in our carriage so I hope it has had some attention up at Carnforth.

I understand that the Green Train will indeed be used next Sunday. It will be interesting to see how much TLC it has received during its time at Carnforth.

Thanks for that, I have also seen it listed as WCGN & of course it was formally RP01.

No, they are playing in Paris on Friday night so you will be safe from marauding rugby supporters!

My ticket arrived today. The accompanying letter states that it is platform capacity problems at Cardiff due to engineering work.
At Reading, the up relief (platform 9) is being used for the down departure.

My ticket through as well. From looking at my seat reservation the stock will be the Mk1 set. This is because the end coach with the green set was usually lettered H, and i am in J.

I'm also in J so look out for the loony with the large Rycote fluffy. :smt002
Hoping that J is at the back leaving London as I rather fancy recording the climb
out of the Severn Tunnel and up through Patchway on the way home.

No but it's Carling Cup Final day at Wembley and last year various London termini were still crawling with fans at 22:30.

No need to worry about marauding footy fans on the station..... it's Spurs v Man Utd so all the fans of both sides will be back in their London homes before you get back.

It was Spurs v Chelsea last year and Kings Cross was awash with them as my nephew caught a VERY crowded 22:25 to Stevenage. The celebrations/drowning of sorrows had continued well past the final whistle believe me. I'm avoiding it all though as I'll be driving home from Slough.

I suppose there might be some Trafford Utd fans at Paddington for the Heathrow Express, although most long-haul flights will have gone by 22.30.

1R + 2R. My mate will be doing his Santa Claus impression but without red and white costume so I doubt you'll mistake us for anyone normal. :smt002
Really looking forward to this and hoping for some überthrash down the GWML.
