    It certainly was! The stopper was due to depart at 07.49 and Ollie was expected at 07.50, so a few worried photographers on the up platform!

    Unexpected Class 37 on the front as diesel pilot, but seemed to be going well even though 73 down now, and getting a run on the fast. So whatever was wrong appears to have been fixed.



    edit - could have been to do with the passenger taken ill at Newark North Gate that was affecting services according to East Coast tweet.

    The other attractions at Scarborough today were the following:

    Passengers on the tour might well have had the opportunity to witness the Vulcan doing its thing. I was out in Scarborough to see it, to it was all a happy coincidence that so many interesting things were crammed into one town in one afternoon.

    I suppose a more primary reason to be pleased is that there wasn't an up express coming past at the same time as that coal jumps up having hit the track. Would have been a total accident of course but a lump of coal smashing into a windscreen at 125mph+ probably wouldn't have been fun...
