    I hope 71000 does go up the marches, after me not being able to make the WSR spring gala and then leg 2 of the Great Britain being diverted up the licky im not having much luck with steam this year.

    I am not 100% sure but i do not think it is coming back to Crewe via the Marches.

    I'm sure the Marches would be the logical route though, as 44871 and 70013 did it when positioning for GB3?

    Hey Rick no apologies please, we all sometimes don't notice that there is a similar thread running somewhere else. Just keep taking the excellent photos. I see on the last one of 44871 on the Lickey, there's only the driver who has not got his head out your side to get his picture taken...

    I was the lad in a just a t shirt and jeans with the green bag. I didnt race to get a going away shot as I have plenty from its prolonged visit to the SVR.

    Saturday 3rd July will see the Dukes return to the mainline hauling HF Railtours Cumbrian Coast Explorer from Crewe to Carlisle via Maryport and returning via Settle. This should give 71000 chance to stretch her legs and it will be good to see her over Ais Gill again.
