Since it appears that AI language is a specific language with its own rules and vocabulary when will we be able to obtain an AI interpreter tool for those of practised in the traditional English language ?

That implies that the overhaul at Tyseley must have been near enough finished, contrary to the quote in #112. Who should we believe?

Actions speak louder than words to me.
Additionally, only light engineering facilities available at the south end of the SVR atm with Bridgnorth inaccessible, so any adjustments or completion tasks needed can only be minor. If an engineer needs to come to Bewdley to work on the loco surely they could just as easily come from Tyseley or Bridgnorth if something was warranty sensitive?
I think the same arguments for Tornado having an agreement with West Coast similarly apply to 71000 with LSL. The economics of loco ownership don't stack up unless you enter into a long term agreement with an operator. I don't see the 60007 volunteers having restrictions placed on them, indeed they have been handed another A4 pacific to work on to keep their skills going.
Look forward to the Duke being back in action, it's one loco I've never been behind.

Both. The fact it's booked for test runs means it's virtually complete, but I understand there's still work to be done on it. Must be pretty galling for the trust to have the loco taken away from them when it's 99% ready. Though it's not the first time they've managed to self implode.

I'm led to believe 60163 still has some of its own support crew, whereas the Duke has essentially handed to LSL for the next 10 years. If the reported figure of £15,000 per trip hire fee for the loco is true (it was posted on one of the Facebook groups the other day), then it's far, far higher than any other mainline loco (60103 excepted possibly).

This loco has been moving to the SVR 'next month' for the last 12 months if you want to believe reports in the railway press. Sounds to me that someone has taken the bull by the horns and said 'let's just get it done now'. It's boiler ticket has been ticking for well over a year now too, looks like there have been issues getting the overhaul over the line. Perhaps the leaks and comments on social media are indicative of this, but we are all speculating at the end of the day.

There is a large engineering workshop at Kidderminster. It might be a diesel workshop, but I am sure that the SVR would make it available to 71000 if required.

True - but it is rather full and I am not aware of a coal burning 'kettle' having crossed it's threshold yet! ;) There is also lifting equipment in the carriage works - but the point stands that the loco would not gave been sent to the SVR if major tasks requiring these facilities were expected to be needed.
As you say, I am sure engineering access would be provided if tests throw up something, that is the nature of the SVR. The booked test runs next week are definitely a positive sign.

Chinnor seem to be having many challenges in getting 6046 out of Cheddleton and onto the railway with indications that they hold the need for a police escort and availability as a reason . to go back to the LSL post arranging availability with WMP may have been a factor in the move perhaps before a test steaming and running up and down the yard at Tyseley . Of course much of what happens between the 71000 trust , VT and LSL is part of commercial confidence and I wouldn't expect to be told although curiousity is always piqued

look forward to seeing smoke from 71000's chimney soon

71000 has been steamed and moved at Tyseley. See its facebook page.

Based on figures I heard sometime before Covid and before LSL ran their own tours for a hire of their locos it does not seem that high to me, with inflation in past 8 years or so.

Hello from the Carriage and wagon.... there is little to no need for 71000 to go to the TMD, except for use of the turntable. We have ample machines available within the C&W for repairs to both the loco and the support coach if neccesary.

Please can you link me to the relevant FB page? The one I’m seeing hasn’t be updated since Oct 24, ditto the website.

Thanks, yes that’s on the ‘Fan’ group. I’m surprised that there’s nothing on their official page.
