    34051 I have a feeling was repainted by Derby in the 1970's

    46235 hasn't been repainted since preservation to my knowledge

    Pretty sure even her paintwork is a bit of a mismatch, orginal or not, certainly when out in daylight briefly the firebox appeared a different shade.

    I'll see if I can find out a spec. 34051 was indeed repainted at Derby in 1980 - and is in line for platework repair and a repaint again once we've specified and costed it.

    46235 is as outshopped from Crewe in 1966 IIRC, and bear in mind that light and shade and colour is all a very personal thing and colours will also fade at different rates even if all applied at the same time.

    That would be great, if you could. We might, at long last, get some standardisation.
    I know what you mean about it being a personal thing. I can look at a loco and say 'that's not right' but I can't look at a paint colour and say that it is right.
