Recent post on the East Lancs Railway forum:-

"The future looks bright. We are pleased to release the following joint statement with the East Lancashire Light Railway Company:-

At a meeting held on Thursday (24th July 2014) between the East Lancashire Light Railway Co. Ltd. (ELLR Co.) and the Bury Steam Locomotive Company Limited (BSL Co.) and agreement was reached, in principle, that the ELLR Co. would source a mechanism to fund the overhaul of the boiler for BR Standard 4 tank 80097 and with the intention of completing the works within the next 18-months. It was further agreed by both parties that a return to traffic of the locomotive, should be facilitated in the shortest practicable time following the completion of the boiler overhaul.

We are still looking for supporters who can help us financially and physically to enable us to get the engine back in service on ELR metals as soon as possible, please get in touch with us at:- http://www.burystandard4group.org.uk and see us on Facebook at BURY STD 4 GROUP"

Seen news today on WNXX that 80097 was steamed at ELR Bury over the weekend - a big well done to all involved in returning another heap of scrap metal from Barry to working order!

Great news just leaves 80100 and 80150 to steam again. Possibly the most useful class of locos for any preserved railway.
