It is really good to have these regular updates - they really show how complex even a "simple" small steam engine is in reality. The followers and supporters must be happy to see their interest and contributions are having a tangible result.

Would it help the fund-raising if there were an ability to make direct donations online ? All the current options seem to require the prospective donor to download a form, complete it, and post it, together with a cheque . As many no longer use cheques, and in the spirit of KISS, an online payment system should benefit both parties !

You have no idea how many times I have come across this over the years. Sheer lunacy.

I pay by monthly direct debit to support 82045 and the Trust so the banking facility already exists.
I will enquire of the Trustees if it is possible to 'go public':Joyful: with an electronic method of making a donation. It sounds like a very simple and good idea. I will come back as soon as I have the answer.
    Thanks for the heads up.

If one of the existing SVR charitable support bodies allows online donations, then the best route might be to channel donations that way into a designated 82045 fund - that way there is no additional expenses / logistics of setting up new payment channels.

Thank you everyone. Building a Steam Loco takes ones mind off the more important but mundane aspects of life!

Here we go with the electronic 'stuff':
Account number 23778169, sort code 20-24-09 in the name of The 82045 Steam Locomotive Trust.
Please reference your transfer with your surname so that we can record your payment and confirm by email to Treasurer alan.brighouse@me.com so we can acknowledge your payment.

    Thanks in advance.

Just checking as it's about a month away, I assume the trust will have a stall at the SSG?

The Chairman's report - link posted above, does mention the SVR Gala's and the expected presence of the 8204 Steam Locomotive Trust team to raise support and funds towards the completion of the boiler.

Numerous copies of part 10A available, and don't forget eBay - that yielded me a new/unsold Oakwood title on the NER electric locomotives.
