Is it true that 850 is to stay at York railway museum and be stuffed and mounted why not sign up to an agreement with the mid hants railway to repair the boiler and then run it for ten years this would be good for the loco and a go catch for the mid hants railway you know it makes sense.

It's only going on display at York until the new year, after which the boiler will be dealt with and it'll be back on the main line. It's still under the care of ERPS anyway, there's no need to send it to another railway.

The previous threads and at least two magazines have quoted ERPS directors and the NRM saying nothing is decided until the problem with the boiler is fully investigated. I know it's hard to see any loco out of traffic so soon after overhaul, but this really is a case of "please be patient" and see what transpires.

I heard that it's going to be sectioned, and shall be replacing Ellerman Lines in the Great Hall. Ellerman Lines will then be returned to steam and take 850's place on the mainline.

    Oh yes.

I was in a pub, mind.

Hmm no sign of twisting things there then 73129 lol, nice piece of comedy to read before bed. As it seems you've been talking to the other members I'm sure you would know that 850 is under an agreement with ERPS so Im afraid your plans/suggestions will have to be shelved. As Neil has said, 850 is still under investigation so until details are announced Im afraid everyone is going to have to sit and think of some good fictitious stories of which you'll be pleased to know you're the first one. Congratulations =D> Or you could wait and check on here or even better still check the ERPS website for updates as and when they are released.

    Under the running plate, duh!

Don't forget to put the subwoofer and massive speakers on the tender, too!

Don't forget, the suspension will need upgrading to 'active' if you're "pimping" properly. However, air suspension units might use too much air from the compressor ](*,) :-k #-o

34092 City of Wells was "pimped" in the eighties. She had lights fitted under her casing to illuminate her wheels and motion to aid servicing of her at night.

I know they all had the lights fitted on the front and the tenders powered by the generator under the the cab. Not sure they had the other lights fitted though. I thought those on 34092 were a preservation mod........ :-k
