Still elsewhere at the moment - last I heard it was still at the NNR. It was going to be leant to the A1 Steam Trust, but because Tornado's launch was delayed they were able to get their own ready in time.

I expect Nellie will run with an NRM coach on the Edinburgh trip, or perhaps one borrowed from WCRC?

The A1 is running with the B1 61264s coach at the moment with its own being in Darlington works currently.

I'm hoping that's a fault with the new website. The most recent 850 news story says it's about the recent gauging issue but displays the above default message when you click there. The same happens when you click on any of the 850 stories. I believe that message was used on the old website when the boiler problems came to light. Fingers crossed it's not new information...

Agreed, hope that the website is the fault problem and not Nellie.

Sorry chaps, there was a fault with the ERPS website. The web designer made a couple of changes but accidently put the old message up of when 850 was first withdrawn in 2007. This has now been amended as you can see by clicking the link.......

Edit - looks like Shoddy's got to the bottom of the confusion....
(Note to self - read to end of thread before posting!)

BTW - has anyone come up with a previous visit by a Southern 4-6-0 to Edinburgh? Or any Southern loco?

Hi all I’ve been on UK steam info web site today and I see the 850 will not now be doing the rail tour from York to Edinburgh on Saturday 20the Dec. This rail tour will now be hauled by 30777. Why is she not doing this rail tour for? Is this again down to gauging issues or is there another reason for her not doing the rail tour.

Well to be fair 73129, York to Edinburgh isnt exactly the smallest distance for a loco to take on its mainline return is it so looks as though common sense may have prevailed and no, I have no other information as of yet regarding 850.

The move from Carnforth to York is still on uksteam. Any news on that, remembering the gauging issue from Carnforth previously. Alternative route to York?
    Regards John.

Are we missing something here, or am I just wishfull thinking. What about a double header, easier for both locos?

The next possible rail tour for 850 will be The South Western Express from Portsmouth to Waterloo and return on Sat 21st Feb.

#850 has now been added to the MHR Loco Roster with it's first public runs scheduled for 20th February alongside Bittern and Wadebridge during the Ivor the Engine event. After that #850 is not rostered on the MHR until the Gala and then again at the end of April. May sees a bit more use but 850 is not rostered again until August with a few weeks of operation. Of course this is all provisional. The rest of the year to August sees the A4 and WC on the main services.

I'm assuming 850 is still at Carnforth?
Does anyone know what happening regarding the mainline test run?

I hear there is still no date set for her main line run. She should arrive at the MHR in February with no main line ticket.

Ohh, that's quite annoying, was rather looking forward to at least the one appearance up here :( Never mind. I suppose we'll just have to wait and see what happens now, thanks for the info.

Looking at a couple of articles in the new issue of Heritage Railway the future of 850 on the ML looks a little shaky. In an article on the NRM and it's loco's it is mentioned that the only loco's they intend running on the ML are 4472 and 70013 at the moment. Couldn't see 850 mentioned. Also a report on the ML news page suggests 850 might not be returning just yet...................
