Someone said at Ropley manor that the only crews to go out on her will be top link crews. So my question is are you chaps in a top link crew.

Whoever told you that was going on a rumour they heard, all crews will be assessed and if successful passed out by a inspector

What you said! Also the point I made previously about the fireman etc and being checked on their own merits!

Don't quite get that - if you take the number of turns each crew does, then dial in whether this thing is running on that day, this could take years.

The "man himself" (you know who) said that he thought that initially every crew would have to be accompanied by a traction inspector. He is very concerned that incorrect firing technique may lead to damage. I suspect this will be like the instructions surrounding #19 when it came out the other year. To start with everyone had to passed out, but this need reduced as greater numbers became familiar and were able to pass on the knowledge without the need for an inspector to be present.

I've often wondered that as well - But I have a clue to this? I think it may be to how they are loaded onto the transporter the other end and put the opposite way around; depending on the line? :-k

Do you see where I'm coming from?
