It should be a good touch - I can't feel that some should get a feel for her before hand before tackling the 1-60?

Any ideas on the timings for the private run? Will it be running in the Goods train path? I will be down on Friday anyway to catch 34007 and 60019 in action with the hope of seeing 850 in action. I am sure Chris would like some pictures of the Wedding train as well.....................

just rung up the MHR. The man on the phone said that it was lit up around lunch time, and depending on whether it leaks steam everywhere or not, it will be running on Friday for 1 round trip of the line in the afternoon.

That means it should be moving L/E to Alresford some time after the afternoon services.

Having been at the MHR today I can confirm the loco had a fire in this afternoon.

At present it only has a nameplate on one side.

Let's hope it's in the firebox and not the cab.

Now that’s not very nice to say. It was an accident and could happen at any railway.

Getting back to the topic of thread has anyone any news of 850's test run and operation tommorrow? Also might she be in action over the weekend as it seems a little strange to steam her for just one train?
