Wikipedia is your friend (even if not always correct!) - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Noakes

(I have no reason to doubt it's accuracy on this topic).

Wasn't Shep buried in the Blue Peter garden? Or was that Petra?

Petra IIRC. I think there was a statue of her too.
Enough of the modern times though. What happened to Christopher Trace and Leila Williams?

Blimey, Blue Peter must have changed a bit since I was a kid!

On a serious note: Back in the day, they visited the loco "on shed" - I remember the story in the relevant Blue Peter annual.

I don't suppose anyone can actually find the clip on youTube?

Here you go - you'll need to download the clip though ('the team steam ahead')!

There is some home movie footage here as well:

Tom, I've tried to find the footage of 60532 at Doncaster on youtube but to no avail. I wouldn't mind seeing it though from the photos of it I've seen, the rolling stock in the backround is worth a second look (Eastern Region managers saloon the 100 class DMU?)

Getting back on topic (!!) This does make the possibility of an A1/A2/A3/A4 line-up and all in working order a distinct possibility for perhaps 3-4 years' time.

Yes it would, with the likely contenders being 60163, 60532, 4472, 60009. Or if you really want froth why not include V2 and P2. Shildon has the space to line up that lot.
