Its a shame the SR has a bribery policy in its staff handbook; I could see myself never having to buy a drink for as long as I publish the crew roster otherwise...!

    Easy.
Use the FA Cup draw system:-
Draw a loco, then draw fireman then driver.
Fair and square, nobody is guaranteed a go on the visiting loco, and everyone gets a chance.

The other option surely is how the rostering was done for the SR35 Gala last year? Get us to swap around on the engines during the shift, makes life much more interesting and most people get a turn on the visitor(s).:)

its good to see that both railways are still able to talk to each other and work together to enable the schools class to deputise for Nunney Castle, that after the hatchet job that Steam Railway did, over the state of the mogols, that both lines have not allowed that to poison the relationship between the 2 lines,

Find it hard to corrulate business, an individuals loco agreement and the press who dont let the truth get in the way of a story, with your statement

Is 70000 still attending? All references to it seem to have vanished from SR website & FB.

I too hope that 70000 will attend
....... which Google translates into "Rwyf hefyd yn gobeithio y bydd 70000 yn mynychu" which I hope is accurate!

Brilliant! I hope our brief conversation in Cymraeg didn't annoy anyone.

Having enjoyed 70000 many times of late, I really want to travel behind her at Swanage!

Well, she's just been to the WSR so it makes sense that she might be doing preserved always at the moment. I have to say, she and Oliver have never struck me on preserved lines. They were quite subdued on the NYMR, WSR and KWVR and at Llangollen but I guess it depends on the drivers.

I wouldn't believe everything you see written. So far as I know there are not, and never have been, any issues between MHR and Swanage, we cooperate all the time in a range of ways. Perhaps, like me, few staff at Swanage read the Beano.
