'ARISE' is really catching on....this is one good idea to come out of our heads...I have been speaking to the ARISE chairman and we should have something to keep your eye open for \:D/ as long as I can pull my finger out and stop working on other projects ](*,)

Even though I drive steam rollers and work for the NRM? Doesn't that make me one of the damned? ;-)

    Anthony,

Steam rollers are great. If you drove one of those very sad fake showmans you wouldn't be let in! They are the eqivalent of painting an austerity black and pretending you have a mainline engine! How is the NRMs austerity coming along? Last report I got was it was looking very sad. Hopefully a restoration plan is proposed?

    Regards,

    David

Indeed, the Chair saw the light and left the mad world of showman's polishing behind for the altogether more sensible land of Aveling Barfords \:D/

The aims of the NRM sit very well with ARISE, you are welcome to join us, indeed we are happy for the NRM to add "member of ARISE" to its headings !!!!!!. Would make a good April 1st !.

He handles a single fairly well for a 3 shaft man but he did choose to buy a Fowler Compound (we will not mention his latest purchase??).

Personally i think we should question his motives over this. Is it possible that one of the founding members of ARISE should be expelled before our awards ceremony?

Having grown up driving engines with two cylinders I thing I should be allowed some leeway with singles.

And anyway whats wrong with my latest purchase. It will be very usefull., And it's one of it's other owners who will have serious problems when his father finds out where it was built. :-$

Hi Ant. Why would I have a problem with steam rollers? it would make at least 5 contributors on here dammed.

Nrm well we can let that pass. But only if you get Woolmer restored for when we get 1563 finished \:D/

Shocking, something must be done !. On the plus side it would look better than the mess that was once CPC UK.

To Quote an Ex-Nuneaton engineman and well known grumpy Foxfield Member ...

    "B*LL*CKS"

No Firefly is NOT going into C.R. Blue... Yes the identical sister engine DID go to the Caledonian Railway, and yes I have my suspicions that she was also originally destined for said scottish railway company... but she never was a CR engine and she is NOT going into CR blue, black or any other colour...

    You're all a bunch of B*stards!!!!!

Actually infact if anything I'm afraid her original livery (and the livery she'll carry) is pretty close to GW colours... sent new to Deepest Darkest Western Terretory, given the name Firefly and painted dark green with black edging and vermillion lining... Oh dear even I can't deny that!!!

However, before people start to say too much... I know of another engine which will carry a VERY similar livery, but compete with India Red Frames, Brass Done and COPPER CAP CHIMNEY.... any ideas which one I'm refering to - Avonside1563? A.E1764?

Glass houses + bricks ring a bell????

I am hoping to finish Andrew Barclay 2261 of 1949 in it's original green livery, no problems with the lining etc as I have an as new piccie. However, I am unsure of the shade of green for the NCB Fife Area locos for the period. Anyone got any ideas? colour slides or photos? would be much appreciated.

Ah yes quite right, but then again it's Bristol so it's bound to be Green, and copper capped, and brass domed. Actually they'll make a pretty pair when they're both done. \:D/
