I think Fred last pulled a passenger train in the 70s so this is a considerable draw

    To be found at https://www.battlefieldline.co.uk/winter-gala
As it says on the website - last year parking at Shackerstone filled up very quickly and many cars had to park in the surrounding villages instead, which required a little bit of a walk to the station. For this reason they are recommending those who are driving to park at Market Bosworth instead - which is why the timetable starts and ends at Market Bosworth despite the fact that locos will start and end their days at Shackerstone. This is also where the free bus links to Nuneaton and Hinckley will drop you. Hope to see many of you there!
Also, while I don't think this has been formally confirmed, I think it is expected that all locos will face South (to Shenton). Certainly this is the direction 6880 is facing

Brilliant! I looked earlier, and saw that it wasn't available yet. I'll be there from around 9am.

The timetable for the Bus Shuttle from Nuneaton and Hinckley to Market Bosworth has been added to the event webpage. Also the timetables for both days are now available as PDF downloads rather than just images on the webpage

If you're around at the weekend do come and say hi - I'm firing 1369 on Saturday and 6880 on Sunday

I've just read on Aunty Beeb about flooding in Leics, and note that parts of the Battlefield Line are under flood watches.
Do we know if the Gala is at risk?.

    Thank you.

At the moment nothing has been said about the Gala being at risk. Certainly the weather forecast for the rest of the week is pretty much completely dry so I personally am not too worried

Austerity 'Fred' has arrived at Shackerstone and is facing South. The 0945 Market Bosworth - Shackerstone on Saturday will be Fred's first public passenger service since the 1970s so may well be popular!

My guess is if it didn't arrive today, it will arrive tomorrow. Afraid I don't know any more information than that
