Gone all arty farty with this shot. First noticed the potential of this location earlier this week while on a dog walk. Spent the next two days improving the view, (even then two legs of the tripod are in the water) for what is probably a unique, a one off never to be done again shot/vista. Fantastic light for this one.

I definitely picked the right day for my first trip to the Surrey Hills ! It looked like another strong performance from the A1 on the climb from Shalford !

As the only steam out on the mainline this week I thought there would be a lot of interest in this one. Here are some still images, crossing the Thames at Richmond and Shere Common Crossing. A planned shot at Virginia Water was abandoned as I hadn't taken account of the time taken to get through Twickenham with all the taffies heading to the big match. Message to Mr Knowwun, next time you are out with the dog can you take a chainsaw and get rid of all those trees! Seriously, where is that location?

Nice pics. As for the trees, as it was I had to work like a lumberjack all week to get that view

Send me a pm on here, and I'll let you have the location.

I was probably one of very few people not to get this train in sun yesterday (although I did get it in hazy sun at Battersea on the return leg). 60163 is seen accelerating through Mortlake on the outward leg of the Surrey Hills Circular. Network Rail seem to have done a lot of vegetation clearance on the route via Staines as this shot has not been achievable from this side for a number of years and I noticed several others around the Chertsey/Addlestone area which are now accessible.
