Just had a look. It is a very interesting and encouraging survey of the boiler. www.6880.info Boiler Status

No I do not currently volunteer
I was somewhat shocked to read that the boiler for Betton Grange referred to here is younger than me! Then again, some bits of this great locomotive will be younger than most of us! Best of luck with this project - can't wait to see this loco up and running (through Broadway Station in 2015 perhaps!?)

I notice the http://www.6880.co.uk/news website has been updated today showing images of the brakeshaft bracket and bearing cap patterns.

Blimey, a society needs a public mud-slinging match such as this like a hole in the.... bank!

Groan! I get so tired of politics and egos in these organisations......

A lot of mudslinging and dummies being thrown out of playpens. I would urge anyone reading the facebook piece to remember there are two sides to every story ... as ever ...

I attended the 6880 AGM last month.

There was a large turnout of members, despite many (including myself) having to travel over 3 hours to get there.

I haven't yet read the Facebook piece so I am also keen to know what has been written.

Be VERY careful, a lot of what has been written is clearly libellous and reproducing it here might be seen the same way. I gather this is NOT and official Betton Grange Facebook page..... poor sods.....

It appears that a person who has issues with the Llangollen railway has written this facebook report. There are two sides to every story.

I had a look at Facebook but could find nothing, the link led nowhere so the posting seems to have been removed. However, the problem is that we who are now looking at this page, are wondering 'what's up?'. It would seem advisable for the restorers to put up a statement, otherwise there will be more people withholding donations, I suspect. That would be a very big shame,as it is a fine project.
