Kings Cross disruption thankfully not a problem today. Bittern 3 mins late on departure. <BJ>

Looked a treat in the winter sun as she swept through Arlesey only 2L. Just as all she wasn't 20 seconds later or we'd have been bowled by a 91. Phew!

The 91 cleared Holme Green before 4464 passed us :)

Has anyone seen a path on RTT yet for Bittern to travel to Alton for delivery down to the MHR?

Gorgeous light this morning at Digswell! A close run thing too, with a 225 set meeting the A4 on the viaduct.

Looking forward to seeing her when she returns to the mainline in the future :)

    Cheers,

Nice shot Tim. Still restricted to "light duties" so I would never have made the climb up the hill. Still, the stitches come out later today and all being well I'll be cleared to drive from Thursday. Just a pity there's no steam on the GN for a while.

Thanks Ian! Hope to see you out and about once the leg's fully better though. Been a while since we last had a pint and a natter :)
Six weeks for the next one is a bit of a wait, but I'm sure I can be patient...

Phew! Good job I feel idle today and couldn't be bothered to get 1645 ex Nottingham to Grantham to see the return. RTT reports Grantham 18 mins early and I would have missed by 5 mins.

Looks like ECML is in a mess up north, cancellations leaving space for 60019 to run.

6 minutes down Bittern made it all up and more on this section, here storming across the deeping fens, the light and weather perfect for a curtain down performance

Lovely video mrKwowun. I love the contrast between 1930s steam and the 21st century wind turbines. Just one wee thing, and I've seen others do the same, the '149B' headcode is a realtimetrains scrambled description - the correct headcode was 1Z19 for the down working. :)

According to my dad who was on board the tour ran late on the return due to poor coal? A bit of a shame if that's the case.

RTT shows her as 41 mins down at KX. A gradual time loss over the return journey rather than any specific incident as far as the numbers go.
