Black 5 on Lea Road Water Troughs.

    Morning All,

    Still wading through my archive pictures, I have added a couple of shots of a Black 5 taking water from the Lea Road Water Troughs in 1965. Now just a distant memory, these troughs were situated on the Preston to Blackpool main line a few miles to the west of Preston. It was still a four track main line when I took the pictures, but a few months later the fast lines were taken out and the formation reduced to double track.

    Two pictures, followed, if you can bear to look, by some pictures of the once proud Blackpool Central Station after it had been closed and turned into a coach and car park. All in the name of progress and the Great God motor car!
