oh well never mind, im no electric multiple unit veg but it would be nice to see such a good example go to waste perhaps in bout 2 years when the bluebell have finished with it they might want rid of it to another railway where it is suited and can carry passengers once again surely it must have cost alot for the unit to be used on the mainline and for it now just to sit in a siding is a really big shame, someone must have really deep pockets, dont suppose sait person is interested in J94's and wants to chuck a load of money at one as when that is finished it most certainly WONT be sitting in a siding #-o

Talking of modernization, I hear the modifications to the steam heat, droplights and roof of 1336 have not been a success, and it is back in the works for the job to be down to an older and more tried and tested method, that is if they can find anyone that knows what they are doing!

OK before this gets out of hand can I please suggest staring a new thread on this subject, as it isn't directly related to the Bluebell's modern traction influx

Actually I was volunteering with secr1084 yesterday.

He informed me that the roof is leaking, so do the altered droplights and doors, and the steam heat pipes and fittings were breaking up due to domestic plumbing fittings being used instead of more flexible ones.

    Regards
    Chris Willis

    DIESEL UPDATE!

The Diesel passenger special is now on the "grab sheet*" for 7 March. No timings at present.

*= This is where all non scheduled trains appear and roster clerks then find the staff!

Will said staff be offered police protection, new identities and false documents to continue their lives after the event?

If it were 5 coaches all with roller bearing axles then she might have been a little happier! Or the just Mets + GN.

Thanks for the info. I guess the photo is probably a for-taste of what "might" be a regular sight for our visitors in the future should our loco crisis not improve.

Well it will not improve until the loco works in funded properly... we may need to wait until the extension is completed (or postponed) before we will see any attempt at improvement.
