On the Bluebell email group it's been announced that 45231 will be arriving this Tuesday and should be in steam next weekend and the following half term week.

It's being sold by the owner - not by Llangollen

I know that, what I mean is railways can ask for items to be removed regardless of owner, thinking of how Owsden Hall's owner was asked to remove it from Toddington as an example.

Bit of a difference - 44806 is running and Llangollen certainly are not pushing for removal - Owsden Hall had been there for 20+ years and was still in scrapyard condition

I realise that, but it's something that could happen in cases like these, whether the loco is a runner or rusting hulk, I just can't think of a more suitable example without some digging.

As it stand it appears just a hypothetical possibility anyway.

44806 is up for sale because the owner wants the money - nothing to do with the railway so no need for you to keep trying to blame the railway.

Where the hell did I say I was trying to blame the railway ?, I was making the point that some lines don't like vehicles taking up space for a while if they are unlikely to stay or be finished for some time, at no point have I said Llangollen have definitely took this stance, so I suggest you stop twisting my words.

Just seen times for 45231's move on Tuesday are up on UK Steam and it gets to EG just after 1pm. I've got a day off and need to be in London that night for Wednesday morning so that seems a very good excuse to head up and maybe travel on an Autumn Tint (if it's not fully booked) and get some pictures of the Black 5 arriving. If any Bluebell folk on here get a hint of the path it will work down to SP in, that would be super handy so I can plan the journey.

I understand the journey along the Bluebell may take a while, as the Black 5 will gauged through every platform en route. Lots of shuffling backwards and forwards through Horsted Keynes then!

Calm down folks. These eyes at least see David's words as strictly generic and hypothetical, not related to any particular loco or railway. Two overlapping sub-threads...

Thanks 5944, I'll have a fun and probably very wet afternoon of following it around I think.

It looks like Carnforth 1968 is being recreated at Sheffield Park 2013! 75027, 92212 and 45231 were all with drawn from Carnforth in 1968, as was 70013, which is due to pay a visit on 2nd November. if 45231 won't be working the 9th November main line trip, who knows, we might see 44871 as well if Riley International Rescue sends it down.

Supposedly 13:11 arrival on the Bluebell, whereupon it shunts into the Bluebell station for gauging purposes. Then 13:20 depart EG and arrive at SP 14:33 - the long journey time is on account of the need to carry out gauging runs through each platform at each station. That puts it between the first and second Autumn Tints train (the "up" AT should cross the "down" Black 5 at Kingscote around 13:45).

Don't see the word Llangollen in there anywhere, I said railways can, I didn't name a specific one.
