    I suspect they are the references for the sets that will be formed for Santa's and Lights trains being used for this event. X,Y and Z have been the set references that have been used before for Santa's etc. As @5944 states X is likely to be Mark'1s.

    Is OBO just the LNWR observation coach, or is it part of a longer set (probably not too long as it's worked by FENCHURCH)?
