A1X, while I understand that you are a dyed-in-the-wool Southern fan and you are entitled to your opinion, that is very harsh considering that the only reason 6989 is there in the first place was because their was no Southern engines available.

You should be thankful the Bluebell bothered to hire an engine in to get enthusiasts to the railway, rather than flog their own locos to death and end up not operating at all.

12.30 ex-Sheffield Park just caped at Horsted, looks like an issue with Poplar

Methinks you ought to maybe take things a little less seriously.

Apparently No.70 has failed - not sure to what extent but I hope it is something easily rectified and/or this at least doesn't prevent Newport from running trains solo.

Tomorrow and Sunday W11 will double head with 65 anyway. But the issue is obviously what will happen with 70

Yes it does. Newport is air brake only and the stock is Vac only.

Sorry to say that Fenchurch was an onlooker today and anyway today isn't its birthday.

Here are the stars of the show - well this morning anyway.

I gather that the Hall has a brake problem that is not a quick fix.

I was told yesterday that the Hall has a number of issues, some which it came with, and it will be out for a month

The pictures I've seen don't look ideal, it's fair to say.

How are they coupled together Ben?
Boiler to boiler, or will the lead loco be facing forward?

Seen reports that both connecting rods are damaged. Going to be out of action for a while by the sound of it.

Blimey. What would cause this? The loco Priming or a lubrication problem? There is a video on YouTube where Poplar can be heard making an unusual squeaking noise when passing by.

You've got to feel for the Bluebell. No Scotsman, no Fenchurch no Wightwick Hall and now no Poplar! Hope they manage to salvage something for the weekend.

Hope they have better luck with Giants of Steam when it comes round.
