Has anybody heard of this?
Yes. Project started back in 2013. Several parts made or purchased. Website now dead. Facebook page still live but no updates since 2019. Effectively a one man band that never got organised into a proper group.
Shame really as it would of been an interesting and potentially useful addition to the preserved/new build Standard class line up.
Well presumably the parts are still held by the gentleman who started the 77021 project, so if someone wanted to start a new group...
Maybe a new group could use the more logical 77020 number
Shame I'm not a trillionaire otherwise, forget the 455 tank, this would be the engine I would personally fund to restore, along with forming a group and choosing a home for it, thinking Strathspey.
I think it might be time to think if there is any value in starting anymore new build projects
