Guess that 72010 will have whatever the lot 242 drawings say/ whatever the advisory body recommends/whichevers cheapest to produce...

The Lot 242 drawings show fluted connecting rod and plain coupling rods. class8mikado is correct that it will depend on the certification body to decide which to use.

Interesting to note that the rectangular section coupling rod drawing that did mention Lot 242, prior to it being erased, was, itself, superseded by later drawings. The tapered gradient pin was replaced by a parallel joint pin. The leading and trailing coupling rods were modified accordingly.
Fluted connecting rods are, of course, normal practice.

Hi Bulleid, we are looking into Direct Debits but currently offer standing orders or recurring donations if that helps.

The AGM is being help at Saturday 19th July at 1pm. The venue is the Community Hall, Oxenhope just down the road from the KWVR. Speakers will include the 5AT group who will be doing a presentation on the changes that could be made to improve steaming and efficiency.

Just Trains have also now released their Train Simulator 2014 pack. Currently on offer at only £11.99. This pack includes a very detailed model of Hengist in the guise she will appear in on the mainline when completed (give or take safety equipment changes). A video can be found here of a run with the simulation over Shap.

Our frames appeal is still open, we received another donation last week that will cover the cost of casting the Frame Stretcher for Bogie Pivot. We are now so close and would love to have a completed set of frames to show you at the GCR next year. Whether you can donate £1000 or £10 it all helps the project achieve the dream of running a Std Class 6 'CLAN' on the mainline.

I thought the bottom end was being done at East Lancs? Is this now to be done at Gcr??

    Hi Gav
The bottom end is being completed by Rileys and the finished assembly then moved to the GCR.

Unfortunately I can't be at the AGM and have sent my apologies. Will the presentations from the meeting be available on the website at some point afterwards for all to read ?

I would of thought that the work specified in the contract would be done at Bury or just up the road in the new premises.

So there is some definite news on the new Premises ( Ramsbottom ?)
Unfortunately i'm not party to what has been agreed with Rileys, and they can only work as fast as components are offered up to them. but last time i looked at the Schedule ( which is a while back) the Move to the GCR and Rileys move out we're looking co incidental.
If there is still plenty left for them to do then 72010 may move with Rileys and perhaps be staying with them until the Cylinders are finished and mounted ?
Dave is probably better placed to answer this ....

Call it "Glen Turner" after that unlikely brand of "Scotch" sold in France and try to get some sponsorship. Och aye, mes braves!

The bottom end will be completed by Rileys, either at Bury or their new premises. Further work after that is still being discussed but the GCR has a skilled team who are very capable with BR standards and Rileys obviously have a reputation second to none.

'Clan Destine' now that would be good for a murder mystery tour !

Excellent! A good chance for you to see some of the components in store there these days. A large number of components are now elsewhere though such as Rileys, Stephensons, S&E Engineering and the slide bar brackets are at Boro Foundry.
