I wonder if there's a chance of a rail tour promoter using all three WCR Bulleids on a rail tour on Southern metals at some point in the future. It could run like this 34016 and 34067 double heading from Waterloo to Weymouth and then return trip back to Waterloo with 35018.

exactly and whilst it was half expected that some of the Bunch collection would end up at swanage until such time as its confermed by West coast that they own any engine , its just guess work, my view is this, that whilst some engines may end up at carnforth ,it does not mean that carnforth are paying for the work Tangmere is part owned, and operated under West coast's safety case, but they dont own it, the same situation could be applied to 34016 or 73096

Didn't the RAIB 34067 report find that it was owned by CRRES, which shares a parent company with wcr?

    35005, 35018 and 35027 have tenders. The rest, apart from 35028 and 35029 don't.

The tenders also looked a lot better before the BR strip down, after which they look like theyve been built out of logo with a couple of bits missing. Given the number of Bullied and Br Standard tenders ( which arent dissimiler below the tank) required for restoration projects theres an oppertunity for someone here to specialise in this kind of work ...

Some old wheels and a box made out of steel. How hard can it be? ;)

Perhaps you should volunteer your services to help build the new tenders for 75079, 34007 and 34058, seeing as you are a volunteer at the MHR.

Then you can appreciate first hand how difficult/easy it is and report back to us once complete about making a tender from some old wheels and a box made out of steel.? :)

Changing the subject slightly, but still within the remit of this thread, I worked out that there could be a staggering sixteen (yes SIXTEEN!) Bulleids pacifics in working order by 2017, the 50th anniversary of the end of Southern steam. No fewer than seven could be main line certified too!

I'm open to be corrected on this on, but 34046 and 35028 are due for fast-track turnrounds and the only current working locos whose ticket runs out between now and then are 34007 and 34028.

There's no guarantee that they will all make it, but here is the list of 16 locos with such info as I have gleaned about them (I'm quite open to be corrected if others know better) :-

34016 - Restoration to main line condition looks likely and may well begin soon. The dismantling of 34073 may well be to help fast-track the process. Of the 16 locos listed here, Bodmin is probably the longest shot.
34027 - due to re-enter service at the SVR possibly later this year. Not currently schduled to go on the main line.
34046 - fast track overhaul on withdrawal later this year. Possibly back in action next year.
34053 - in action on SVR. Only returned to service 2 years ago.
34059 - Due to return to steam at the Bluebell possibly next year with new 10-year ticket.
34067 - Hopefully through all her current woes by then. Last full overhaul completed in 2010, so should be available in 2017.
34070 - will have been working for 9 years by then, but should still be available.
SLL locos rarely fail to make a full 10 years.
34072 - SLL hopes to have 257 Squadron back in action next year.
34081 - Restoration progressing well. "Spamcan 81" posts here regularly and does not want to commit to a target date. Wise man! However, I wouldn't have thought a return to action within two years is pie-in-the-sky.
34092 - return to steam imminent. Whoopee!
34101 - Steam Railway reported NYMR spokesman as saying late 2015 for completion.
34105 - Mid Hants hope to have Swanage ready when Wadebridge comes out of ticket.

35006 - Can't be long now, juding by its appearance at Toddington at the gala. Owning group were aiming for end of year, and if not, certainly before next year's gala.
35018 - RTC have advertsied it for some of the Christmas runs, so shouldn't be far away.
35027 - apparently progessing well, although not much official news from Bury. I would have thought that Port Line would be the ideal loco to take over the Pullmans when 35028 is withdrawn next year, as the Hosking locos are usually fitted with air brakes. Alongside 34016, this is perhaps the loco on the list with the biggest question mark for 2017.
35028 - to be withdrawn next summer with fast-track overhaul to follow. As the last overhaul was very thorough, hopefully not such a big job this time.
