As mentioned before, here's hoping the detail differences have been incorporated- they would be the icing on the cake. Regardless, its about time we had a few more MNs running about.

Yes it would, but I would say " don't hold your breath"! ;)

Then again, you never know Can Pac may just trundle off to the GWSR for a jolly......... its the MHR's turn (as it stands) to return the favour...... they've had the Black 5 - we're getting the GW lump of a tank engine for the ASG, Sooooo...........

All I do know is, with the amount of Bullieds in traffic/about to enter traffic/be retired from traffic, we aint going to be without one! :)

Thinking back when IR was supposedly looking at buying 35018 didn't he think about painting it BR Lined Black (and 35009 in BR Express Blue).

I hope 35018 comes out like Bulleid Pacific says with the original features after rebuilding. Failing that I'd be happy with the early crest on the tender as a bit of variety to 35005, presumably 35006, 35027 and 35028. Certainly looking forward to seeing her anyway.

Me too. I visited Barry in 1974 and 35018 was the best-positioned Merchant Navy for a picture. Not my best shot, but as a result of taking it, she has always been a loco I have had a soft spot for and have looked forward to the day she steams again. After many years of uncertainty, it looks like we're not going to have much longer to wait. I'd like to get a run behind her, and I hope that being an 8P, she'll be given a few opportunities to run unassisted - i.e., no diesel on the back. It would be great if RTC repeat the "Welsh Borders " trip. It's a fantastic itinerary, but because of tight clearances in the Malvern area, the more historically appropriate GW locos such as 5029 are out of gauage. 34067 and 34046 have been the motive power in the two years it has run. I was on 34046's run this year and it was a superb day out. RTC's programme on their website runs out at about the time a re-run would be likely to be scheduled, but if they went for a repeat of this year's itinerary in May 2015 with 35018 up front, I think they would be on to a winner.

2017 will certainly be an interesting year. 50 years since the end of Southern Steam and it seems there may not be much of a shortage of Bulleid's on the mainline, let alone preserved lines

Sad news in the latest "Moors Line" that Richard Shaw, the owner of "Hartland", has passed away.

35006 this week. Electric conduit for lighting all going on, cab windows going in, AWS bits all coming along whilst the last major components, the main steam pipes and the tender brake gear all making good progress.

    Heres me thinking
We should hire Mrs Painless to work for the MHR to make and sell those Brandy snaps that keep getting mentioned in the Wednesday Gang... they look lovely.

    Missed oppy there..
Braunton could have gone to Yeovil, turned and worked back the DCE today.
Tangmere... On the back could have turned at Southampton and the pair then continue to London.
Would have Saved on the diesel (and its crew), and the Weymouth-Southampton diesel leg and its own LE movement.... Probably would have sold a few extra seats too.

I'm sure I'll get shot for dared having thought this thought.

34007 running on the Mid-Hants today, but as I popped out to the shops, 925 sitting on the bridge over Jacklyn's Lane - presumable on a "pay and play" duty. 34007 also rostered over the weekend, presumably will be on the RAT on Saturday night, hopefully without a repeat of the problems of two weeks ago.

It'll be a long day for her if she is!

Matt & Warwick are doing a mini charter with her first thing - 6am start I believe.
