You're right, that was the plan, but it doesn't look like it's going to work out. We're hoping to lift Eddystone's boiler in the next couple of months and looking for a covered home for the frames and Sidmouth's boiler. More news on Sidmouth, etc, here: http://www.southern-locomotives.co.uk/News/news.html

Going by the Scotsman thread - Wells now has her full nameplate & crest - when did that happen?...... seems to have slipped under the radar!

The wait was prolonged, so it was probably a case of now or never.

I think I saw a picture in one of the magazines recently of her being renamed on the ELR. Can't remember which though.

Now to get a 'reunion' with 34051 and 34053. Much more deserving for a short period than what's happened to 92214.

While it's a little late for the 75th, I have no problem with the identity change; Lord Dowding is a name that's more than worth commemorating even in this small way. But your photo does lead me to wonder how long it'll be before somebody gets irate that Braunton has the wrong pattern tender to be his lordship...

I think getting 51/52/53 lined up would be a bit of a logistical feat, but given her mainline wanderings I could definitely see Braunton visiting York and the SVR during the year. Hopefully if she does go to York people involved will be alert to the opportunity, for the SVR the photo op would only be a little bit of shunting away.

Consecutive numbers only, for the OCD contingent. Besides, if you're going to have 35059 surely we should be including 34058 as well; I'm sure if the MHR drop everything else they can have her in presentable condition in time.

You always seem to know where the coats are kept, I may need mine in a hurry...

Just to further complicate things: from an update on the works forum a month or so back, 34046 (or 34052?) could even be getting the MN tender ex-35005

In sadder news, Tony Deller has passed away - he was for many years the technical adviser to the Bulleid Society and a fount of wisdom borne of practical experience about locomotive restoration, not only Bulleids. See an obituary here: http://www.bulleidsociety.org/News/Latest_News.html

Yes, I was highlighting the opportunity for consecutive numbers.

Fair enough. Seems a rather tenuous reason to go to the expense of a reunion, whereas getting all the surviving locos named after specific individuals who played a role in the Battle of Britain at least has a kind of logic.

I wondered if anyone would notice the different tender, I think Braunton has a 5500 gal tender
