The work in progress is the TR Dolgoch, which is a nearly running chassis which will be stripped and cleaned for paint one run on air. The boiler requires the backhead joint and 8 stays completing at which time it will be hydraulically tested to twice working pressure before moving on to the platework and boiler fittings. Estimated completion 12-18 Months

Is that genuine folded in half valve gear like on the real No. 2? Well done!

No.2 has Fletcher Jennings Patent valve gear. Looks a nice model - what colour will you paint it? I always liked her in the 'Atlas green' that she carried until she was painted maroon a few years ago. This was supposed to be similar to what Atlas painted her after overhaul in 1946. It's a nice apple green with yellow lining and writing (no nameplate) that offsets the brass very nicely.

That is the case Jamie, Not only is it folded (the radius rod passes between its pair of eccentrics) but its also 'Allan' valve gear, which is a modification of standard Stephenson's gear in that the lifting link raises the radius rod and lowers the expansion link simultaneously when changing direction or notching up (or vice versa). This was used both on TR 1 and 2 and also on FR England loco's due to space constraints.

Just beat me to it Neil, I do like that livery, I think it would look nice on the loco. I am also quite fond of the current maroon livery with lined motion. Name wise I was thinking about 'Pretoria' just to be different but I'm still undecided!
