    Lol
...and presumably being followed by a left hand drive vehicle - 'cos surely it wasn't the driver videoing it?! ;)

I remember a tale about someone connecting a long cord from the whistle on their traction engine and leading it into the cab of their unit ready for "playing" whilst driving through the tunnels on the A55 enroute home from the Anglesey rally.

Yes - Lord Fisher, now at Yeovil in the capable ownership of one of the original gang of six who bought it. A powerful little beauty as well. We could move the big 'uns around no problem.

As has already been said, it is not necessary for there to be a fire in the grate, for there to be steam in the boiler. The fire may have been 'dropped' but in boiler the size of a main loco it will take some time for the water to cool to the point where the boiler pressure drops to atmospheric.

A regular occurance with 5542. Best record was loaded and on the road (tarmac type) within 40 mins of finishing a service train. In 2005 we had test run Buckfastleigh to Staverton, loaded onto John Antells' Low Loader move to Bishops Lydeard and test runs to Norton Fitzwarren all inside 12 hours with a stop just off the M5 at Wellington to 'Put a few around' ready for unloading. A lot depends on who is transporting and how much they 'understand' steam, which John does.

Also the loco is on a reasonable slant on the low loader. You would need to go up quite a steep hill before it flowed away from the firebox end.
