96 of the coaches operated by West Coast... got most of them now, just need a few of the latest additions, the lesser-used Mk. 2s, plus most of the Green Train.

Whilst this is true of David Smith's locos, 5690 Leander is largely being fettled by her owner and the volunteer support crew each weekend - most of whom travel considerable distances to do so. As for the differences, the stresses on a boiler and other mechanical items whilst working flat out mile after mile at up to 75 mph bear little resemblence to those encountered pottering along at 25 mph. If your preserved line loco fails then it's inconvenient but on the mainline is definitely not recommended!

Looking forward to 44932 coming down south soon all being well. Booked on the Swange Belle run on 3rd July which is either 46115 or 44932.

Now that 44932 is almost there, does this move tangmere up the queue , is she due to be the next one out, or will it be another LMS engine.

Let's hope that it's another LMS engine, you can never have too many of them.

John Bunch quoted in this month's Steam Railway "We're hopeful to have it running in the end of July period, but we can't put our hands on our hearts and promise that. David Smith has thrown as much resource at it as he possibly can" after 44932 and 34067 are done then focus will turn to 45699
