    Times out already for this tour. Has been extended to Crewe instead of Shrewsbury.

    Diesel: Paddington - Banbury - Birmingham - Shrewsbury - Crewe.

    Why do Steam Dreams insist on having stupidly late arrivals back in London? Only needs a slight delay and no one will be able to make any connections on a Sunday evening. I accept it may be a NR set of times but seems to have quite late departure from Paddington, and this sort of thing has happened before.

    It's five hours outward with a diesel but then quite a lengthy seven hours on the return with the Duchess. Therein lies the problem given that few, if any, people would opt for the two hours at Crewe. Presumably that is an operational convenience. So that means that the majority of passengers would de-train at Shrewsbury for a three and a half hour visit.

    Nothing wrong with that at all.....apart from the duration of the return trip. Rather a mission for a Sunday, it seems.

    Given that this tour started out as steam in both directions (I believe), is very late back, and offers next to no discount to those joining up country (like me from Banbury), why would you?
