As you say, Clan Line is dual braked, so the whole train would have been working on the vacuum brake. Surely the driver of the pilot loco would be in charge of the brake?

Nice trip out and interesting to have such a different combination.

Thanks for pulling it off when giving up could have been the easy option

shame about the heating yesterday, but steam dreams have kindly emailed today offering 50% off a trip next year.

The state of the batteries on coach K I doubt the blowers would have managed even if there was some steam in the pipe the lighting seemingly running pretty much on the dynamo alone....

Yes - a day of mixed fortunes, in terms of heat and light dependent on where you were in the train and therefore not a satisfactory state of affairs. It would be good to see maintenance levels improve generally across rolling stock - TOCs please note

Watching the various videos of this train, there was a massive steam leak from under the 4th or 5th coach. I would imagine the rest of the coaches would of been "starved" of steam.

Many thanks to John, Mark and Dan for the comments on my pic (Post 93), glad you liked it.

Would love a Tangmere/Braunton double header on the kent coast next year on the same way round as this. There are many more places i saw to capture what would be a lovely pairing. Fingers crossed and a merry christmas to you all on this forum.
