They were about 3 minutes apart through Virgina Water.

70013 absolutely flew up the bank at Upton Scudamore with 12 coaches on. Later I filmed the train at Grateley and it was certainly flying
there although running approx 10 minutes late. Both clips were filmed in beautiful evening sunlight .....one of my luckier days!! <BJ>

No doubt he'll show you his video then! I would imagine that it's quite impressive judging by the show put on by 70013.

Managed to catch 70013 in the suburbs of Bath this afternoon, on the outward leg at the old S&D bridge at Bellotts Road. It (he?) was accelerating hard on the departure, with 'rapid gunfire' exhaust. Most of the lunchtime shoppers in Moorland Road (including a whole cafe!) descended on the bridge to see what all the fuss was about - and were most impressed by the display. Mainline steam really is its own best advert.

A particular highlight was after the train had passed - after most had left, 70013 could still be clearly heard for a good minute or two afterwards, working hard. Listening to the exhaust beat reverberating amongst Bath's Georgian stone was incredibly evocative.

    Cheers,

    Phil.

There's been some great piccys & vids on this thread. I love the very distinctive exhaust note she has & it's amazing how well it stands out from the rest of the background noise - I could hear her coming in to Andover for what seemed like a minute or so before she appeared.

Damn it! We nearly booked this one up as well. Looks like it was an absolute cracker. Good to see 70013 back to full health at last.
