I have seen the trespass on the ECML several times from steam excursions I have been travelling on, and it really horrifies me (people standing in the up slow 4' photographing us on the down with their backs to the traffic for example).

I have said it before, what people must realise , in a simple example anyone can understand, that a train travelling at 125 m.p.h. covers a distant equal to the length of the pitch at Wembley stadium in just under 2 seconds.

I do not condone trespass of any type although a walk down the ramp, but not off it, is just about acceptable. Don't blame just steam though because something like a Deltic would generate the same kind of issues.

As for banning steam as a result of this, dream on.

Can we get off this hobby horse please - the biggest offenders are Joe Public - they aren't enthusiasts and they don't read forums like this - get over it, and if it is of sufficient importance the authorities will deal with it.

You are quite correct, Frank. This is the most horrific aspect of the problem. It is not the enthusiast who usually commits this type of trespass, it is Mums and dads out with their kids who just do not realize the danger they are putting themselves in.

Absolutely, railway trespass is a problem 7 days a week, not just on days when something unusual happens to be on the track. All part of a general disrespect of the rule of law by the worst in our society.

I understand there has been quite a lot of casual trespass when 91110 is running (certain aviation websites have carried details of it's duties).

Following service running on single yellows, also some track works may have been causing a speed restriction, now down to 20 mph.

    i'M also new,

Just returned from Stevenage. Was told that Tornado is 50mins late due to engineering work, also there is a new bridge being fitted at Hitchin which is also adding to the problem.
