All good calls! Although as you say, I sadly doubt there will be a 'sequel'. But let's be grateful for what this series has achieved - and hopefully the coach owners can capitalise on the publicity to attract more funding and volunteers to advance future restorations!

I suspect the main reason the series was made was to make money for the production company & TV channel, not out of the goodness of their hearts to see old railway carriages restored. So if they see that it was a good money making idea for them perhaps they will look to make a sequel, fingers crossed. Even if there is no sequel then at least there are four carriages running which they may not have been for ages without the programme being made, so lets all be thankful for that.

I suspect that now trains have been done, any additional series would concentrate on other types of vehicles being restored. Aeroplanes, boats, buses, military vehicles etc.

The latest news that I have is May, but then their is no publicity on channel 4 that I have noticed. We have been subject to a news embargo for well over a year, a very frustrating situation.

In Walthamstow on Friday I stumbled upon a crew for Channel 4 filming inside the ex Victoria Line (1967 stock) car at the Pump House museum. They said it was a scene for a drama involving the main character, on the tube, hallucinating that everyone around her is naked. Sadly they wouldn't let me in the carriage.

I don't suppose there's anything like this in the Great Rail Restoration?

You wouldn't want to see our carriage restoration team naked!

Well our usual greeting to fellow volunteers if we see them in the real world (especially in C+W when we're all in orange boilersuits) does tend to be "Oh I didn't recognise you with your clothes on!"... :)

I Have a tail to tell, very similar, I had a friend a fellow fire person( female) who one day I saw at my local supermarket, I did not recognise her because she wasn't a local, and only when she poked me in the back said " oh, go on, ignore me then" I used the same reply, and the dirty looks I got from other shoppers over a certain age was very funny, it turned out her and her partner were visiting a friend local to me, and they never knew I lived there also.

very true, it puts people off, when I worked in C&W at Tenterden, we also had to contend with some women, who were just scary, and intimidating with their clothes on, us men would I think have been slaughtered by them,

Presumably you are having to keep the finished article hidden from public view until the program is broadcast? Agreed, very frustrating!
