The time given for York is the departure time rather than the arrival.Similar times to last years trip.

I would not expect to get the same sort of schedule that was issued for the Christmas Coronation in the forseable future. The best timings were being issued to DBS and gave everyone a chance of a good day out. Saturdays seem to take about 4hours running in either direction KX-York.The long schedule on the way out is water at Holme and Doncaster and being looped at Carlton. The York Newcastle timing is poor at 112 mins for 80 miles and I bet there is a box on the train.

We had very similar timings for this trip last year with a 47 on the back and apart from a small shove after leaving the Cross, it was pretty much silent for the whole trip. In fact, it was one of the best trips I did last year, good run up with some nice streches at 75 (although the blue skies and snow played a big part in making it so atmospheric!) Shame I can't be on this year but hope its as good a day out a it was last time.

Times are almost identical to last year but I **think** we get a run up the Fast over stoke, thats why we go in the loop at Carlton when we didn't last year. An improvement.

York - Newcastle is very slow however! (as last year).

The times for 19 on the return are almost the same as we had with 60007 yesterday but No.7 had time for a water stop at Newark. Great run York to Newark, 75 mph through Doncaster station, chime blowing.

On time so far, not surprising with this schedule. Max speed 59.9mph.

The heating's been on for several hours on the train, yet the windows are so cold ice is starting to form on the inside!

Smashing photo Michael, she looks superb.
Since when did it take 2 hours to get from York to Newcastle, non-stop?
If it gets in early folk may have time to come out of the station before the return journey, crazy timing.
Hope all goes well with no duff coal this trip.

Yes, heading back to Grosmont tonight, should arrive back around 9pm.

60007 left York at 12.45 from platform 11, just as 5043 rolled into platform 10! 60019 in steam outside NRM being prepared for tonight, and 60163 inside the servicing area.
