Was sure first behind loco today.

If you look at the photos, especially just after water at connington, first 2 are half brakes.

Presume you are the gentleman that shared the freezing conditions with me at Heaton this afternoon.

Gresley did return at 16.42 after turning and left again WITH support coach at 16.53. So it looks as though our original guess was correct and she had been forced to go down to King Edward Bridge Junction to use the triangle rather than the Heaton turntable.

    Nice to speak to you.

60007 passed through Newcastle station around 16.20 and crossed the King Edward Bridge tender first - an exhaust trail a few minutes later, where there used to be many, at Gateshead, indicated a reversal and then home to Grosmont.

She must have gone like the clappers as we were on the 16.30 NCL / KC and we saw neither hide nor hair of her on the way south

No 19 left York a few minutes down, and a few minutes later 5043 backed the stock up from Holgate, and made a typical spirited departure. We then headed back to Manchester on a heatless 185 - loverly!!!

The gay freeloading hypocrite on a day out again

ps We tried logging in to Nat Pres to upload info during the day, but were forced to give up everytime as it appears that logging in by mobile takes around fifteen minutes a page - let alone adding a message - we did try - Blackberry and Nokia N97 Mini.
