And in just over half an hour the first crews for the start of our main running season will be arriving. 2013 has started positively for the CVR with the successful visit of 31806 from the Mid-Hants, hopefully this will continue for the rest of the year. Remember if you can't make the action yourself, you can always watch from one of our webcams.

No, our two TtTE events in 2012 weren't that successful, with one in particular only just covering costs. With the associated fixed costs of running a TtTE event increasing in 2013, it was decided it was too big a risk to continue with such events in 2013. CVR is not the only railway to have done this.

The Saturday 1940s Dining train is also to be opened for non-diners as a Real Ale Train, providing 2x return trips along the CVR.

The velocipede rally sounds like a lot of fun!

Probably due to TtTE being a load of CGI garbage with stories about the stupidest characters imaginable constantly f*cking up and, despite the show's theme, never actually learning anything (now).

 

Diesel Day 33102 has emerged from her winter hibernation and was on test this afternoon apparently, and is now ready to go for tomorrow.

Then on Sunday 6046 will be working the two Cauldon trips whilst the DMU will be operating with its Tail Load.

Monday sees the N7 come out to play along the CVR line only.

Seen briefly mentioned elsewhere on here that a pair of tank engines from the Spa valley have been bought for use on the CVR, can anyone else expand on this?

 

Discussions have been ongoing regarding the purchase of TkH's 2944 and 2871 by a group of CVR Volunteers. Spa Valley have put on their Facebook page 2944 is being collected from their place on Wednesday. Not sure of any other details at present, sure Chris/Rob will get something sorted for the website though.
