If you look at the timetable the departures from Froghall are at: 0945, 11:15, 12:45, 14:15 and 15:45. There is also a departure from Cheddleton at 0845.

    Thats it.....

Yes. it does now - but the flyer must have been updated after I raised the comment. The original one on this morning had no timetable and referred to Froghall as Froghall Junction! But I am sorry for reacting too quickly.

That aside, please can someone comment as to whether the Black 5's will run double-headed throughout, or will one be attached/detached at Leekbrook, and will the banking be with steam or with a Type 3 diesel? Many thanks for any info. It will all help me plan my weekend at the CVR.

Very disappointing. How many times have I seen a black 5 or a large prairie now? REALLY wanted to see the s160 on the bank. And what on earth was all this extra engine rubbish? Was there ever going to be another visitor or was this to entice us?

Attempts have been made with several groups. Just no firm agreement came to fruition.

Chris, any chance of a proper timetable, ie both directions, also arr/dep times from Consall?

Perhaps with such a stupid post you ought to stay away. Obviously your experience in putting on a gala or restoring a locomotive is non existent. Another arm chair expert.

When you have opened a railway as I and my colleagues have or restored a locomotive you can talk with an element of authority.

Until such time I suggest you keep your stupid comments to yourself. The preservation movement needs all the help it can get. Not idiots like you who do nothing to help.

Timetables are all done. We are waiting for confirmation on whether the loop at Cauldon will be in use. When this is received the correct timetable will be issued.

It is a shame that the FULL timetable has not been available earlier as this would help attract more paying visitors.
What is actually on the website will in fact deter some.

As an example of good advertising etc

    http://www.e-v-r.com/eventinfo/

Shows a full timetable and also all the info that you will need.

According to the CVR website, Black 5 44767 wont be at the gala as its been taken off the list.

Can anyone from CVR shed any light on the matter?

A press release will be issued shortly we are just awaiting approval from the owners.

We are working hard to get a replacement locomotive and should hopefully have some news shortly.

    Regards

    Chris

Starting to think this event is cursed! First, the failure to negotiate the additional visitor, then the S160 not being available and now the five presumably failing? Can it be called a gala with two locos in steam? Got to really feel for the CVR here...a lot of factors seemingly out of their control.

Is there anything close by that could be bought in? Foxfield; Wimblebury, Whiston? Llangollen; Manor, Pannier, Standard 4? Lougborough's Jinty would make me buy a rover ticket!

Hope the CVR can figure something out,

    Lewis

No chance of "Wimblebury", we are having to do a load of repairs on her before she can run...

I'm sure CVR will something out, just like they did when 71000 could not come for the early 2010 gala, they got in 5542!

No I do not currently volunteer
Whiston and Florence from Foxfield would definitely get me there or Foxcote Manor failing those two. anything two cylindered and noisy basically!

TT's Should be released soon, I think the loop at Cauldon Lowe has been givin the heads up for the all clear to run on it!! Let's hope so anyway... :D

Just to add that the visiting Black 5 45379 has landed at Cheddleton MPD, as seen here:
